Over to you! Curriculum choices – you choose which to do throughout the week!

Foundation Subjects

PSHE –

Memory game.

Select a range of household items, place them on a tray or table.  Have a good look and then cover them up, ask someone to remove something and see if you can guess what has been removed? Make it harder by removing more items.  Keep swapping and repeat with different items with themes from different rooms.

Computing –

To think about coding, what does this mean? Discuss briefly that it is the way that computer programmers input instructions into computers to create programs. With a partner give and follow some clear instructions to some daily life activities pretending you are a robot being programmed.

E.g. one is a robot and the other is a coder. The coder needs to direct the robot to walk from one place in the house to another. How can they give the instructions so that the robot does not crash into objects in the way? Repeat a few times in different locations and different activities.

A challenge

Junk modelling! Collect and recycle materials such as yoghurt pots, toilet rolls and boxes and see what you can create with them.

Can you invent something new? Perhaps a gadget or something to help people? Draw a picture or write a description.

Physical

Design and make an obstacle course at home or in the garden. How fast can you complete it?

Time to talk

We have been in lockdown for a while now. There may have been things that you wanted to do but couldn’t because of the lockdown rules. Make a list of these and keep them. When lockdown eases, see if you can accomplish these.

Reflection

Thank a community hero. Think of someone that helps you in some way and write a short letter to thank them.

List making! Write a list of things that make you happy, things you’re grateful for or things you are good at.

Special Event

The Big Lunch – June 6th and 7th.  The Big Lunch is a time where people come together to celebrate neighbours and get to know one another a little better. Now more than ever, we need to make time for each other, so let’s get the nation talking over a cuppa and a bite to eat and have some fun with The Big Virtual Lunch.
