This year, Year 4 have been lucky enough to take part in the Linking School Project AGAIN! We have been linked with St Edwards again this year and can't wait to start making friends with children from there.
Making links with St Edwards!
Prior to our first ever meeting, we exchanged photos of each class and send across 'All About Me' mind maps, from each child, to each schools. From this, we could identify things about ourselves and see similarities and differences between the schools.
On Tuesday 26th November 2019, 4V and Year 4 children from St Edwards met for our first ever meeting! It was such a fantastic day. Children took part in 'getting to know you' activities, studied beetles and even created our own beetle (from recycled materials) and decided on it's habitat and what it would each. There was some great examples of teamwork and lots of new friendships were made today!
We cannot wait for our next meeting!
Visit to St Edwards - 3rd April 2019
Wow, what an amazing visit we had to St Edwards Primary School. All the staff and children were so welcoming. We played 'getting to know you activities', designed our own playground and had so much fun making new friends. St Edward's made us some lovely Easter baskets with a special prayer inside. We cannot wait for them to come and visit us next month and make more memories!
As part of the Linking Schools Project, Cedars has joined with St Edwards to make links between the school.
On Thursday 6th December, eight children from 4V children went to visit St Edwards. We had an assembly together where we sang a song that represents our school and St Edwards performed a rap for us. There was a special guest that visited us, Lord Bourne from London! BBC news were also there and that night we were on the 6:30pm news! Take a look at who was on the news…
