Welcome to 5R!
A message from Miss Reynolds...
This half term, our exciting topic is 'A Kingdom United'! As part of this, we will be learning about the wonderful country in which we live, with a focus on the Anglo-Saxons and how they invaded Britain. The knowledge organiser below includes some of the key dates, vocabulary and other information that the children will be learning during their lessons; please take a look at this with your child and see what they are able to tell you about their topic!
Homework, reading and spellings
Homework will be sent out on a Friday to be returned on the following Wednesday. The homework is a combination of written and computer-based work, and should take approximately 30 minutes to complete each week. If you don't have access to a computer at home, this isn't a problem; there will be a homework club at school for your child to attend, during which homework can be completed.
We also ask that your child reads both independently and to you during the week, with this being recorded in reading records, which should be brought into school each day.
Each week, the children will be taught a new set of spellings at school and will be given a list of these to take home in order to practice and consolidate their learning.
This half term, our PE lessons will be on Mondays and we will be learning a range of dances from different cultures. Please make sure a full PE kit is in school each week.
